Should I get two Subwoofers or one? IF I get say 2 8inch subwoofers, how big does the box have to be to hold it? Like 1 cubic foot or something? Also does that space need to be ventelated somehow with like a hole in the side or something like that? Please give me some help, I plan on redoing my entire stereo system and I need some advice
So If I go with 2 8inch subwoofer then I would need 1 cubic feet of inner room for both of the speaker put together? LIke if I made a box that had both of the speaker in it and then I would only need 1cubic foot of volume?

I'm using the E8A as an example... for 2 of them you'd need 0.5ft^3 for a sealed box, for a ported box you'd need 1.0ft^3. And that's internal volume after speaker displacement.
Why wont I need them? They are already installed? I bought the car and the previous owner had 2 6x9's in the back, a kicker and an amp with it all. But the amp broke and the HU is a tape player. So I decided I would chang all that and go with a new amp and I might as well go with 2 8 inch subwoofers.
Also what does SQ stand for? and what about SPL?
I've been told you could manage to fit 2 10's back there. I'm thinking about doing that with mine because the 6x9's just don't have the punch I'm looking for. Maybe throw in two 10's and a set of tweeters as well. That should do you nicely.

I just took my vette out for a drive a couple of mins ago and the Radio would turn on and off, like be loud and then when I go over a bumb or close the door hard, it turns all low again. Well It isnt in the wiring which I checked a while ago. Its the freaggin Head Unit, it turns low and then when I smack it, it comes back on. Pile of smelly heap, I should throw this crappy tape player out and get a CD player. But SHould I get an MP3/CD player or just a CD player?
I heard you could store like 160+ songs on a MP3 disk. But what if you want a song thats is say for example in the 100's. Would I have to skip 100 songs just to get to it?? Thats insane
well it's more like 120 songs or less depending on the bitrate of the encoding. Anyways... when you make the disc you can put songs into seperate directories or folders to sort them out, so then you look for a track that way and it cuts down the time.
Also should I do the install my self or let Best Buy do it? I dont know about best buy, my firend got his install and they charged an extra 50 bucks on top of the free install and this 50bucks was after the harness kit and the other kit that makes the HU go back and be flush with the dash
