Default trustworthy audio

I need experienced opinions on this equipment. Alpine 7897 50 watts p/c actually only about have that(i've read), to run cdt hd52 and a ms80 sub? I 'm thinking I'll need a seperate amp possilby to run the sub. I don't blast my music (mostly jazz),but like a quality sound. If I can squeek by great if not, and cost is a big factor now I'm over my budget as it is,what's a good unit. Thanks again for your replies

I'll make my sub enclosure. I'm going to use software I'll download off the internet to determine the size of the box. I'm already fairly sure the box size for the CDT MS80 is .25 to .45 cubic foot. I saw a thread about a port for this but I don't really understand how to size the hole for the port. I've ordered my Alpine 7897, CDT HD-52 and my CDT MS80 from CBRSTEREO and my the amp which is an USACOUSTIC USX4085 from Sounddomain. I'll update you guys with the results ie did everything arrive when they said it would and did I get what I ordered and in what condition.

I just finished my install on Monday. I put in a set of CDT CL61's in the front, a set of CDT CL6X in the back and a CDT MS100 Sub. For an amp I used an old Sony 4X50 RMS that I have had for a few years. It sounds wonderful. I made a modified version of the box in the link below. Mine has slightly less volume than the vrumvrum designed. You should be very happy with the sub, it seems very precise and should be wonderful for jazz. I ordered my speakers from CBRStereo also and was very satisfied.
