Need help? what new replacement speakers?
well, i know nothing about speakers and stuff, but i was wondering if you guys could give me some direction on a replacement speaker for the doors. I want something that obviously sounds better than stock and has more punch(bass). i was thinking about getting the Sony Xplod's, but there are several diff. models? ALso, just to make sure, the door speaker is 6.5oversize right? What about in the back, are those 4X6 or 4inch round or what?

You'll want to get some 6.5" component speakers. I have MB Quart DSD216's in my C5 vert. They sound good parked or going down the road. It's a noisy car. I was going to go with another member's suggestion with CDT's but I couldn't find any to listen to first. You'll need to listen to anything you plan on buying, sound is really subjective.
There are some REALLY COOL C5 speaker mounts a member made up in the C5 parts for sale section. :yesnod:
The stock head unit will have to be replaced if you have a BOSE system. :sad: The amps are in the speakers.
It can turn into an expensive proposition just to upgrade the speakers. :mad

I checked out Crutchfield and it looks like they have some pretty good head units but not many replacement speakers.

Focal 165K2's. Talk to Mike76002 on the forum, he will build you some speaker mounts for the doors.
A lot of the e-stores don't list the speakers unless you search for them specifically. Try sounddomain.com You really need to hear them before you buy.

CDT HD-52's(these are probably some of the best you can get and are 5 1/4" components), email them they have 2 sets left at a KILLER!!!!! price. They arent posted on the web anymore as they were like half price so you have to email them.
