Some people think it is a good idea to break a sub in, while others say it does nothing. I believe the latter. After owning 4 sets of subs and 2 sets of towers with subs in them, I honestly don't think it matters. If you are buying a set of subs from someone, just make sure you know what amp they ran them on to see if there is a possibility of them being abused. If you have new subs and you are wanting to break them in, just play at low to moderate volumes for the first 20 hours.
I think that if the sub is going to last, it should be able to take the abuse that will regularly be applied to it(like being played at full power) as soon as possible. If it will break with that power, I want to know before I keep it for too long. :cheers:
