What is the best way to anchor an MDF board holding amps to the rear hatch area WITHOUT drilling? I have removed carpet and cut MDF board that accommodate amps. I plan to place MDF under carpet then put amps on top carpet and then drill through carpet and and wood. I just need some way of securing the MDF to the fiberglass body. I bought some silicone sealant with hopes that it would be strong enough to hold the MDF to the body. I just want some ideas before I proceed. If anyone has a better wat to anchor MDF to rear compartment without drilling please sound off.
That's probably the best way to do it, and I would use silicone instead of LiquidNails.
Also, if you were gonna use one sheet of MDF under the carpet, it may create too big of a bulge under the carpet - especially 3/4".
A different idea is to cut strips of MDF the size of the recesses in the fiberglass body pan, and secure them with silicone. Then you could secure a very thin sheet to them and mount your amps. It makes the carpet bulge less.
