help, stock '88 radio
So, what to do. Anybody have similar problem? Is it best to repair or replace the unit? If repair is an option, who does this sort of work? If replacement is the correct option, where can I get one (I would like to keep it stock or close to stock)?
This may also explain your dead battery situation :)
Hope this helps!!!

The relay is attached to a metal bracket with 2 9/32nd screws. I could not get the passenger's side knee panel off (the panel above the knee that's is covered in carpet).
I ended up taking the dash pad off, then the A/C Duct that goes to the passenger's dash air vent and then I could get to the relay and the two screws that hold it in place. :hurray:
They must have put that relay in with the dash pad off. Also while you are in that area look towards the left side of the dash "bump" (behind it) and you'll see a flasher tucked away just in back of the dash. You might want to change that out while you're in there.
My radio would play for a little while then cut out. I had the radio serviced but that didn't help. I was told about this relay so I changed it out but no luck, the radio still cuts out. :cry
Good luck! :flag
