Help--Problem with Alpine HU and/or PAC OEM1 setup working!
I installed an Alpine 7892 in my car two weeks ago and after driving the car a lot this weekend and setting up my preferences with the CD player i realized that there is a BIG problem. Here it is::confused:
I have the PAC OEM1 connected to power the stock speakers with the Alpine. When I am using the tuner I'm getting all 6 speakers working fine. (The front 3.5" twiddler, the 7" Bose woofer, and the rear 6.5" twiddler). HOWEVER, when I play a CD-- the Bose 7" woofer is not working. Its playing nothing at all. So, my sound is flat and without bass. This is also true when I use my iPod through the aux input. BUT, its fine with the tuner!!!
What the heck could be causing this problem?? It sounds like an Alpine issue to me. All parts are brand new and installed by myself. I took caution in affirming every connection and putting all back together. Any suggestions?

I had the exact same issue with my 7892 when using the OEM1. There was no problem when listening to FM, but once I switched to CD, the 7" bose woofer didn't put out nearly as much bass (if at all) as it did with FM.
I know that one of the power leads on the OEM1 is labled wrong. What is happening is that when you are listening to FM, there is power to the FM antenna wire that will switch on the Bose amps. But when you are listening to CD, there is no power to the antenna wire and the Bose amps are not turned on.
Try to change the "power on" wire to the OEM1 from the antenna wire to the remote power wire. In other words, switch the blue/white wire with the blue wire.

Switched the wires- works perfrectly now!! Thanks guys. Sounds pretty good for stock speakers. Definately needs a tweeter though! :yesnod:
Glad to hear. An easy way to add tweeters to the doors is to buy a set of 3.5" two-way speakers. They will bolt right into the stock Bose housing. They run from the deck power and won't inpact your OEM1 or Bose woofer output if you change them out.

Thats what I am toying with now, but I was planning on getting components and an amp. The Bose don't sound that bad actually. Especially during CD playback. The Alpine HU is really clear. We will have to see how long this goes for.....
