Ok Stereo experts, Optima Red top or Yellow top with one amp (900watt) Phoenix gold, on a 98 C-5 with a AC acid battery for now. The AC has got to go due to all the acid leaks, and just wondering if there is a better alternative to the Optima,.....AC glassmat, and what is the best place to purchase. I live in Michigan
OPTIMA yellow top, I live in Nevada and Auto Zone is running a sale on Optima batteries right now, you can pick a yellow top for about $135.00, and if you would like a Red top they have them for $109.00, :D
OOOH no, I haven't found another altertanives for better stereo powering, other that 2 Optima batteries. :D
what evet you decide to buy, :lurk: up the volume :D
Just keep in mind that your alternator is what powers the car and stereo when turned on... adding a new battery won't fix most of the issues associated with lights dimming. Better batteries only really help when the car is at idle and off...

:iagree:
Yellow tops have a 120 min reserve time for playing your stereo with the car off, the Red top is a deep cycle.

I dunno about reserve, but the Yellow top is the deep cycle, not the Red top.

Yep
Also, as people have said, a battery will not "help" your electrical system per-say. Most people do not compete with their stereo's, therefore adding an extra battery much of the time is excess...I personally rarely played my stereo when the car was off, thus on my old truck I upgraded to a 200 amp alt.
