From the following link, can you guys recommend a 6 1/2" set of speakers for me. I do realize the factory system doesnt go below 1000hz and it only puts out a limited number of watts RMS. I"m just not good with this kind of stuff. $130 price cap please. I'm leaning towards the MB Quart RSC 216 because of the angled tweeter rings. Will they sound like crap because there's not enough watts to push them? Thanks,
Re: rear C5 speakers..I need help!!!!! (Metal_Wulf)
the rest of my system is the stock Bose C5 setup. I was going to do the Radio Shack tweeter upgrade but I figured if I'm going to add tweeters to the factory 6 1/2's I might as well upgrade the 6 1/2's in the process.
I want to buy from the link I listed because his warehouse is close by allowing me to pick them up. Ike gives excellent customer service as well.
Basically, what RMS range should I look for in components?
If this is just a plane 'ole stupid Idea I'll do the add-on tweeter mod with some type of rotatable speaker.

I didnt know this thread was still hanging around. I had some Infinitys in my Jepp so I decided to try something different. I bought some MB quart DKD 116 6.5" speakers for around $90. It sounds better and I'm going to put them in the front as well.
IMO, put your $$ into a better front speaker system and don't run any back speakers. I am running a set of 6 1/2" components up front only and it sounds great. Well I have a 12" sub to.
I had the same idea, instead of adding just tweets, I put in all new component 6 1/2's with the tweets positioned at ear level. The Bose system still stunk though. So now, I'm going all new.
BTW: I have a set if Infinity Ref605cf 6 1/2s components for sale, cheap
Infiniti 652s, decent sound, angled tweeters, easy install, $80 on the web
:iagree: Also, just finished installing the MB Quarts 108s in the front doors and now it really sounds good with the 652s in the back. The final step will be an amp and thats about it leaving the rest factory.
I also have a 99 Pewter Coupe that I want to upgrade the Stock HU sound system for. Do you think this is a major improvement in sound with the MBs in the front and the 652s in the rear? You mentioned that you may add an amp, would you keep the stock sub in the front if you did? I would like to EM you about this if you don't mind.
