I don't know why no one else mentions them, but I just put some polk 6.5 components up front and 6.5 coaxials in the rear and they sound very nice. I think they are not as bright as bostons, mb quart etc, but very smooth with 1" dome tweeters. I paid around $250 total at crutchfield, which is much cheaper than the above brands. The rest of my system is an alpine 9813 HU, Jl 500/5, and Jl 12w3v2

You are right they definately are not as bright. I will be replacing my 6.5 MoMo's soon, I have them in the rear, they sure need a lot of power. I have Alpine up front for imaging which are fine, will put the Polks in the Explorer.
