Default Alarm

Has any one intstalled a aftermarket alarm? If so, what kind, or do you think the factory one is good enough?

Default Re: Alarm (DNAST1)

I had an Alpine SEC 150 R alarm installed last month. It has proximity detection as well as impact and motion. The factory alarm is fairly good, it covers doors and hatch and even will go off if you reach inside the car and attempt to turn the lights off (I learned this the hard way :smash: )

But the factory alarm does not have any proximity, impact or motion sensors. I needed the extra protection when I bought my Fikse FM/5 wheels and my new Alpine stereo.

The truth is that no alarm is going to stop a true car thief.....but it may stop kids from trying to go for a joy ride or vandalizing your car.
