looking to start using fiberglass for a custom interior, but have never used it before. Are their any good books, websites, videos etc. I want to create custom door panels, center counsel, and eventually a custom dash.
Like said above, if it's your first time with fiberglass, start off with something small and practice. If it doesn't turn out how you like it, trash it and start over. It's lots of fun making your own custom stuff though
when i make some progress i will post, fortunately for me i may be able to receive the materials at cost, i run a computer/electronics/car stereo business out of my home and am applying for an account with select products, if i get it i will post and let you guys know how much i can get off of their products, then pass on some savings to the forum members
Mixing the resin is the most complicated because of temp variations and time of year. I halfway recall some sort of "working with fiberglass" article in maybe Popular Hot Rodding or such. One of the tricks he used was to mix a "test batch" to time the cure of the resin. If it took too long or too short he would then readjust the amount of hardener to get the appropriate cure time.
