How to cut out cigarette lighter?
What did you use to cut out the useless cigarette lighter part below the air conditioning controls? I'm going to mount my Pioneer DVD unit in there. Any issues with fit? what did u use to cover up any remainding spaces if there were any?

I mounted my Nitrous pressure guage there with my NX switches where the ash tray was. Make sure you cut from the back as to not slip on the visible part. I also fabricated a plate to house the guage and switches. The only problem I could forsee is mounting depth.

I layed a straight edge along the back and cut it up with a cutoff wheel on an air grinder. Then I use a sanding disk to fine tune.
Are you going to be able to insert a DVD with it that low?? Interference with the shifter might be an issue.

I just used a dremel with a cutting and sanding wheel.
You might want to put the AC controls down there and the DVD where the AC controls are.
If you do this make sure the AC works properly before you go through the time of putting the console back together. I missed a connection somewhere on mine. So I have to take it back apart to get control of my vents again.

whoa this is an old thread did that two weeks ago and moved the air conditioning controls downwards. now they don't work right.
As in the other thread on the controls, have you fixed yours yet?
