i started off with kicker 6.5's. they distorted with the amp gains way down. i sold those and bought mb quart 6.5's, now those are distorting at low gain levels. so i said f this i bought cdt es-620's, so iam waitin for thoseto come in the mail for the front. my amp for the fronts is a kicker 4channel. is this kicker amp giving me all this BS or am i buyin the wrong speakers. if its the amp tell me a good four channel amp, this is gettin tiring ripping the doors off every week :banghead:
Don't know about the kicker components, but there is no reason that the MBs would distort. Since you have to turn the gains way down, my guess it is either the amp, or the installation. Perhaps you have the crossovers set wrong, or have the amp bridged across the wrong channels.
i checked the crossovers there ok. also i checked the amp settings. i also checked the wiring. it sounds good till i turn it up on the radio . i have all the crossovers on the radio off. so i just use the ones from the amp. :banghead:
