I am installing a Kenwood (Sirrius) FM Modulator, and has leads for car antennae - do these need to be used if I am dialing in a channel for the satellite reception??
Re: Help! Install Q re: Satellite Radio (racetchr)
This is how the system works FM modulated. By pluging into the system (splicing rather) you connect the Sirius through your AM/FM tuner. Tunning into something like 89.5 or so, you will get the Sirius Sat input, then you just use the Kenwood box to change Sirius Channels. If you don't hook up the antenna, you get nadda :nonod:
I've had Sirius for just about a year, and love it!

How do you route the cable if the antenna is behind the bumper cover? I was under the impression that Sat. radio is not effected by plastic, and the antenna could be mounted anywhere. Of course I could be wrong. I've had XM in my truck for almost 2 years. But today at Best Buy I couldn't pass up a Pioneer system on clearance for $30. I'm not real motivated to hack up the Vette, but I don't trust anyone else. Any advice is appreciated.

Through the vent in the trunk on the drivers side, just behind the carpet.
