Default Re: Amp? (Metal Wulf)

Two amps is definitely an option, however, space constraints limit those options. I was thinking of mounting the amp(s) on the back wall with the NEO jukebox. I am not sure I will be able to get everything to fit, however. Right now, building a box in the storage compartments allows the entire back panel to be free (no rear speakers). Would I be able to mount two amps back there and still have room for the NEO? I haven't completely thought this through, so there may be other mounting options. Which pair of amps would give the kind of power I am looking for in a compact package?

Finally, on the CDT's; would the CL's at $150 still be more worth while than the 62's at $290 shipped? Thanks again for all your input, fellas.

The back wall measures around 23" i think. You can probably get two amps to fit back there and if they are the same kind it will look pretty sharp. The Alpine V12 series would be a good candidate for this. Their input and output hookups are on the bottom side of the amp, hidden buy a plate. You could mount two of them side by side for a seamless look. Also, rockford Fosgate has amp links that will allow two amps to look like one long one, but agin you are limited in space. Just check out the lenght specs and make sure they fit together. I would store the juke box behind the seat or in a well or corner.

As for the CDT series, if I could afford the HD series I would of gotten them. If feel like you are settling for the Classics and might wish you went with the HDs ~ you already know your answer. There WILL BE a difference between the two sets. It just might be like going to an awesome speaker from a great speaker... Either way your going to win. How much of an Audiophile are you?

Also, the HD series handle 20 more watts, so you might need more power...

actually the back wall is about 36" long and 13-14" high, that's plenty for a couple amps.

as for amps:
US Acoustics USX2100 or USX2150
US Acoustics USX600D

My mistake forgot he had a C3. Scratch putting the jukebox in one of the wells then. More room for it all on the back wall though.

Default Latest Plan

Okay, here is what I am looking at right now:

Headunit: Eclipse of some sort (where can I shop online for Eclipse, or should I just go to the shop doing the install?)

Speakers: CDT HD-62

Amps: USX2150, USX600D

Subwoofer: Elemental 8A

Hopefully, I can get the amps and the NEO car jukebox all along the back wall, but if not, I can find an alternate place for the NEO. Any other suggestions?

That system is going to Rock.
Eclipse signal, CDT sound, and elemental Bass.

Sounds like a winning recipe to me...:D The amps should perform well with those speakers. Check out ebay for a dual amp kit- it will be cheaper.

Are you planning on any sound proofing??

I already lined the floor with RAAMmat 24 (or whatever it's called) when I installed in carpet a few months ago. I am having them seal the doors with some of the RAAMmat as I have TONS of it left over. They are also going to add a spray-in foam deadener such as that used in aircraft to tighten up the doors even more. I am not super concerned about weight, but they won't overdo it. Will do on the amp kits from ebay. This system will take several months to come together as the budget only allows for a bit at a time. I will keep you all updated and try to take some pics along the way. Thanks for all the help!
