Default C5 Convertible Upgrade

I want to keep the headunit and CD changer. Does anybody have a recommendation? Speakers, amps, etc?

Of course we do. But instead of having us all repeat ourselves, click through a few topics asking this same question... Get a feel for what's out there... And tell us what you like. We can help you further from there.

If you don't want to read answers we gave when others asked this question, can you at least tell us what you're looking to spend? Otherwise we don't know if we should reccommend Infiniti Reference 6.5's or Rainbow Reference 6.5's.

Less than a $1,000,000 - does that narrow it down for you?

Hey,
I have a C5 Vert, and you can do well with a 'G'.

But, I would recommend ripping that deck out.. Run some new cables, and your all set.

I have some items forsale (look in the C5 forsale section) that will get you 3/4 the way there. (Send me an IM)

Shouldn't you check if the person is really a troll before calling them one?? C'mon boys, play nice!
And by the way, this is for my car and I would like some ideas. On the vert, the volume just can't go loud enough - have already blown one speaker. Money isn't really an issue - just want something good that I can crank it up!

Well, when someone starts slinging insults at the first person to reply, I can see why someone would assume that. I was still willing to help after he called me a *****, but he didn't seem interested.

As far as loud goes.. Id go with 4 speakers if that is your goal. Some of the loudest speakers Ive heard are Focal Utopias. I had a set at 120watts per side, and they went about 15db past the point of human hearing damage and still sounded CLEAN.

For fronts, Focal Utopia 165W
power these with a 150x2 amp

For rears, Focal Polyglass 165cv
Power these with an 80x2 amp

To save a few bucks, use Polykevlar 165k2 up front. You only need the UTopias if you want bleeding edge sound quality.

Focals tend to have a highly accurate, somewhat bright, sound to them.

My other favorite is CDT... CDT's are NOT as loud as Focals, but have a warmer sound to them.

CDT HD62 front, CDT HD62 braxials rear...

100x2 up front, 100x2 in back for power

usacoustics makes an amp thats an awesome bang for the buck value.

Need a sub?

Kale,
I understand where you are coming from.
Now, about the sub, do I need one?? I seriously have no idea. Would it be better to have one? I don't need bass, just good volume and sound.
I am clueless when it comes to audio stuff.

I personally dont think music sounds right without a subwoofer. Music can sound very good withou it... With the top down, it will kill a lot of the bass, anyway. It will take up a lot of trunk room.

Four 6.5 focals banging away will give you awesome bass above 70hz or so.

I would go without one at first, then see if you still want more bass.
