I'm looking at some pretty good deals on audiobahn 8" subs on ebay. They are going for around $50 a pair. What do you guys think of them? Is it possible to fit them in a stealth box in the center storage compartment of the trunk of an FRC? The audiobahn website lists a min sealed box size of .25 Cubic feet for each sub. I was also thinking of another possibility of adding two 6"s to the sides of the truck, in the recessed area at the back.
If I do get the 8"s, what cheap amp would be good to pair with the subs?
I'm not an audiophile I don't really care about high end SQ just want to upgrade the stock system a little to get more bass. Also, I don't want too much added weight. Thanks in advance
Audiobahn is an intersting topic. Most people are split among the "yeah they are okay and look pretty cool for the price" and the other half say "they are an audio pile of crap".
I built a box for fun using 2 AW1200Qs and invterted them to show the magnets. They sounded decent, not bad, but not great. But as far as adding the missing low frequencies, they do just fine. You could put two of them in a stealthbox. Might be better off getting a single 10 or 12 though. You should be able to get a AW12q or AW10q for about $90 on eBay. US Acoustic or JBL amp feeding its maximum RMS power will be good cheap bass.

Then I would just go with a decent single 10"
One thought, would I be better off getting 1 Class D mono amp or a 2 channel amp and bridging it since it gives higher RMS power when bridged compared to a Mono Amp for the same price. This is assuming I go with 1 Sub in the end. Sorry if this is a stupid question I'm a real noob at this audio stuff :D
