okay , I think I have it figured out what I am going to do now I need to know how to do it ....I wanna add a 10 sub and amp to existing stock system in my 03 coupe... my plans are to get a stealth box from Mike on the forum and put in a Rockford Fosgate RFP 4210 (is this good?) also getting the eye looking grill and having it powder coated MY yellow , then will be cutting a whole in the loyds carpet to put the grill on for a neat fit. Then my next idea for the amp rack is to maybe have Mike bulid the rack and want it done where the amp would be in the middle (rockford fosgate power 1000bd) also powder coated yellow , but have a plexi glass see thru on top . then I was thinking since there was room add two squares of plexi to the let and right and have the c5 logo sandblasted in the plexi with yellow neon inside the rack to light it up....Does this make sense to everyone ??? here is a crappy drawing using someones from the board back seat (sorry who ever you are)
okay , what do you think ....???
How do I do it ???? lol im serious where do I run the power from to do this ....where would run the rca from the Bose radio(yes I am going to order on of those connection thingys) do I need anything else ?????
Re: **HELP** adding Sub and Amp ..need your advice (Metal Wulf)
I wouldnt suggest buying rockford fosgate... :withstupid: rockford isn't what it used to be... they've been putting out nothing but crap that last few years
if you DO get one, put nothing combustible within 6" of the amplifier.

Better amps can be had for less money. RF amps have a reputation for overheating. I believe I saw a thread onm this forum a while ago from someone who had a rockford amp.. and it ignited their carpet.
RF makes some decent subs that are good for being loud... but not for sounding good. Ive heard quite a few RF installs, including a sponsored RF suv.. not any of them sounded halfway good. Just loud (in some cases)
then we have subs that are loud AND good.. all the brands I mentioned d oboth well

Todd,
There are few other brands that you should look into also. For the sub, you should look into the Kicker Solo Baric L7 series and MTX for the amps. Kicker L7 series subs are great and the price is very reasonable too. The same apply to MTX amps. But if money is not really a huge concern, then I would recommend going with JL Audio subs and amps. Their products are a little pricey, but I think it is well worth it if you willing to pay more for top notch quality.
Next step is to decide on how much bass you want from the sub. If you don't plan on going to "sound-off" competition, then you definitely won't need more than 300-400W RMS. And plus, the C5 interior is so small already so it doesn't take much to rattle your bones.:D
Some people like 12" sub more, but I personally think that a 10" is a better match for the C5 taking the overall weight/performance & price into consideration. Two of the JL subs I would recommend is JL 10W3v2 and 10W6v2.
