I've always wanted one too. This is a used one and I got it dirt cheap too. The guy just wanted to dump it. How much are these things new anyway? I paid $200 for it and the functionality is 100% Has all mikes, manuals, cables, disks and even a seat mike stand. Now I just have to start reading and determine how to work it.
Got a question actually. I see the machine has a pink noise generator and audi output so you can line it into your amp. But there is also a CD with pink noise on it. Is it better to use one over the other? I figure the CD would be better since that would be a representation of the whole system.
Now, if any of you guys want to back your 20Hz system claims please come on over. :reddevil
usually systems are 'heavy" under or near 80hz, thats tEh way most folks like it. from my cheap testing, my 400hz was +3db over norm, and 1khz was +5db over norm. thats a big difference!
most RTA's are at least a grand..
It had this weird hollow "envelope" around lower parts of the music. When i took it down some notches on the EQ, the music got a lot more clear, and it even sounded like I had more midbass.

let us know if your system sounds "better" after the RTA adjustments. All the "flat" cars I've heard don't really sound all that good. :nonod:
This is very true and I most likely will not leave it flat but this is an excellent tool to get a starting point and then work from there. Final adjustments will always be by ear.
