I just got a used Diamond Audio Macdaddy 12.8. I plan to put it in one of Mike's second generation stealth boxes with 1.0 to 1.2 cu ft volume. Now I need to get an amp. I want one between 450 and 600 watts into 2 ohms. I'm looking at the Diamond Audio D5 600.1 and JL Audio 500.1. What are your recommendations?
I would get JBL 1200.1 ... this is the best bang for the buck mono amp.
For 250$ on Ebay, you cannot go wrong with it.
I actually run this amp with my Mac Daddy before and Mike (MTWallet) is running the same thing and he is really happy with it.
It's just my 0.02$
isnt THD under 1% inaudible in upper haering range, and something like, under 3% inaudible in lower hearing range?
im not sure how accurate that is, because from my experience ARC amps sound cleaner than JL amps... But the JL amp could have had like, a 4:1 gain ratio, and the ARC could have had a 2:1.
As far as sub amps go... many audiophiles are using sub amps that are .5-1% thd, and claim it sounds the same.
