I've been checking on eBay for some speakers, and I've noticed there are a LOT of Sony Xplod knockoffs. One is called the XBlod, and at casual glance you can't tell a difference between the products, down to the box.
Of course I don't plan on buying these. I wouldn't buy them even if they were true Xplods (had bad luck in the past). But doesn't it seem to everyone else that this should be illegal?
Just out of boredom I took a good look at both of them side by side, and they appear to be identical except the whole b/p thing. The material and specs are also similar.
Looks like they came from the same factory that makes the sony versions...no copyright or trademark infringment...it is legal to my eyes, but I still wouldn't buy them. Looks like the factory continued production of those lines(they are discontinued from sony) and Audio Mobile bought a pretty good batch of them and relabeled them.
Might be worth a look for a budget ghetto install though...kinda like teh Funky Pups.
