I recently dug out my old fosgate stuff. Fosgate Power 300 and Fosgate Punch 150 HD.(Way old 1990 stuff, but very reliable) I was planning on using the power 300 for the fronts and rears and bridging the 150 to run a single 12" sub. What do you guys think would be a sub capable of handling this. Not a fan of the new fosgate stuff(amps or speakers) so I need a few options.
Even if its making almost twice the power, any good component set should handle that just fine. 75x2+ for comps, i would go with CDT CL-61a from http://www.thezeb.com
Whats your bridged rms power @ what ohm for your subwoofer?
Yes, you have good amps.
Finding a sub to handle that kind of power was hard to come by in 1990 but not now. There are subs like the JL Audio 13W7 that will handle 1000 watts RMS. There are other vendors subs that will handle that kind of power too.
Avoid subs that say "1300 watts" on the cone. That is a peak rating and they will have a better chance of frying on you. You get what you pay for.
I just ordered 2 sets of the CDT CL-61a's. So once I pick a sub I will be on my way. Getting closer. The Zeb has a smoking deal on the CL-61a's. You can't beat that. Thanks Kale for the tip.
Just wait till you hook those suckers up... :reddevil
What kidn of sub are you looking for? how much to spend, what impedence, power handling.. spl or sq... or sql..
A little of both. I like quality sound but I love to be able to turn it up and make a little noise every once and a while. So I am still doing some research as to what I am looking to get. As far as price I hate to spend more than $200 on a single sub. Any suggestions? I was thinking JL maybe?
