Thanks for the brands guys, I am leaning toward the JL Audio. Would the 500/5 model be sufficient as I read on this site the Focals 165W neeed a min 100W to drive them the 500/5 does this but only puts out 25 W RMS for the rear where I have the Focal 5W2 and are rated at nominal handling 70W. Would this amp be the right model of JL Audio.

I would recommend JL Audio as well. I would go with the 450/4. It puts 150x2 to the front and 75x2 to the rear. You can go with the 250/1 or the 500/1 for the sub. I have all JL Audio amps and speakers and have no regrets.

I'd recommend JL Audio for speakers and ARC Audio for amps..that's what my cousin had in his 92, and it was TOP OF THE LINE stuff...

I haven't heard a focal sub other than the utopia that I really like.. even then, there's other subs I'd buy first that are better for less. Image dynamics springs to mind.

JL Audio doesn't make a speaker anywhere near the level of the Focal Utopias, though.
