Any Return To Changing The Bose Drivers?

:)
Here's my question:
Is it worth the trouble to actually change the factory drivers themselves? If I'm right, each of the speaker enclosures has a built-in amplifier - but that shouldn't preclude replacing the (probably cheap) factory drivers...
Am I missing something?
Has anybody done this? If so, what kind of drivers did you use?
If you want to keep your factory radio and replace the speakers, it can be done. Just do a search on this forum to see what I mean. You will probably find, that in the long run you are better off just replacing the HU as well.
You can directly replace the speakers in the rear of the car. You can add a tweeter and/or replace the small twiddlers in the door. You CANNOT replace the subs in the door without ripping out the amplifiers and adding your own amp.
So...replace the rears with cdt, focal, infinity, whatever. Size is 6.5" for coupe and hardtop, 5.25" for vert.
In the doors, add a tweeter in parallel with the twiddlers already in place. Try to angle toward passengers a bit.
You might also consider adding a sub in the rear compartment along with an amp. You can even fit a powered Bazooka sub in the compartment along side the factory changer.

...why do they have to make it so complex to upgrade?
