New Alpine DVD IV-9000
The picture quality is simply amazing. The SQ specs are right in line with any higher end Alpine HU. There are a ton a features and many inputs for additional equipment (back up camera, navigation, etc.).
The menu is fairly complex to use until you get used to it. The system takes quite a bit of time to go from one screen to the next.
I bought an aftermarket switch for about $20 that allows you to view DVDs while you are driving. Otherwise you have to push the brake, then engage the parking brake. This "mod" was worth every penny.
The only thing that I really dislike about it is that when you are watching a DVD, the default subtitles are on. So every time you turn on the car and resume a movie, you have to go through the menu to get them shut off. There must be a way to set it up so it doesn't do it, but I have figured out how to yet.
Let me know if you have further questions.

Did you install the HU yourself? If so, how difficult was this? Where did you find this mod? Is the unit XM capable or is that yet another unit?
