I am getting ready to install my new system and would like to hear where folks have grounded their amplifier when mounting in the back of car. I have a coupe and plan to mount on the far back panel. Any suggestion on where to ground in the back or the next nearest location would be appreciated. I am using the PG Titanium 500.1i so I need a good ground. Thanks in advance.

There is really nothing good along the back wall. You can drill through the tub and ground to the frame, or use the seat mounting bolts. But a better ground is at the little shelf behind the seats. It is all metal, just sand it, and tap in a ground. It is a little longer than the traditional 3 feet, but I'm grounded there and have zero noise.
Where in the back are you mounting the amp? That is important to know since you want as short of a ground run as possible.
Hi Nomad. I was going to build an amp board and mount on the far back wall above the main compartment where the sub will go. This is directly behind the "Corvette" lettering on the back of the car. Does this make sense? I appreciate any suggestions that you may have.

Here is a pic:
Thanks leolufse. Sounds like this may be the best option. I would hate to have to run a real long cable.
In my opinion - the best way to go is to run a fat ground cable back from the batt - you'll get more power this way, and also reduce your chance of ground loop noise (esp. if you run a ground back to the HU too).
