Can anyone recommend a high output alternator for a 92 LT1. The stereo/amps I'm planning on installing will be between 500 to 600 watts. Will the factory alt(120 amps?) be ok say with a cap or should I upgrade?
You should be fine with running 500watts. Make sure that you have a good battery (Optima or the like) and check your factory wiring. Replace anything that looks frayed or discolored.
You should expect a 50 amp draw at most... less if the amps are class D.

:yesnod:
:iagree: and use at least 8-guage wire to the amp, fuse 6" from battery :)
