A friend of mine first blew 1 coil of a sub then he just blew another coil another day :D so the sub is now death.
Is it easy to fix it? Or that is it, end of story :D
Used to work for a JL/Alpine/Xtant/PPI shop. Throw it away unless it's more than $400 sub, or repair it if it has the access bolts to replace the spider/motor structure.

:iagree:
they just don't repair well.
also, do you know why a speaker blows?
usually it's due to NOT ENOUGH power!!!!!!!!!! another cause can be a bad box design, wiring, or, too much power. But not enough it a big cause - the voice coils overheat whilst trying to reproduce the sound that the amp cannot provide the power for.

I bought the sub from Ebay and it already got 1 death coil. So he try to just power 1 coil and I know it would be death soon since the DVC sub requires even power all the time to each coil. And just couple weeks later, it completely death.

I hate to disagree with you, but "low power" can not possibly kill a speaker.
Too much power, definately (thermal damage)... Bad box.. definately.. especially ported boxes when the builder doesn't know what they're doing. (Mechanical damage)

This is true. But it is also possible to mechanically damage a speaker by not providing it enough power, if you push the limits of the amp providing the power. The idea is that the underpowered amp is working ***** to the walls and ends up providing inconsistent and distorted output causing your speaker to not play in a linear fashion and become mechanically damaged in some way.
I'm not sure what you mean by linear fashion... Do you mean that if I use my bass boost on the amp, and drive it into clipping... that the cone will move sideways?
if it was possible to blow a speaker by underpowering it, how do you explain them not blowing when the volume isn't maxxed?
Sometimes cheap amps can provide straight DC when clipping, and that's bad... but clipipng itself isnt' that bad. I run 2:1 on my fronts and 3:1 clipping on my sub. (both of which are grossly UNDERpowered. 50/110watts fronts, and 380/1000 watts sub)
:nono: you cannot just run one voice coil of a dual voice coil sub
I have a blown 12" if ya want to try and fix that  it is free for the taking  I'll even throw the other 12" for $10
By the way, what is a death coil or did you mean dead coil? Are you from the south?
