My ears need help???
This is way out of my area as I'm AUDIO CHALLENGED but the radio in my 96 sound terrible. I don't think it's the radio it's self, although it could be, but it's sounds bad. WHAT THE FIRST STEP?
How do I tell what needs to be replaced, speakers, amps ect.
Do u mean a new terrible or stock system terrible? :U The first thing u should do is play with your balance/fade controls. If it's really distorted and raspy it's probably a blown speaker and u should be able to point it out when u single out certain speakers. :yesnod: Play the type of music u notice it the most. Certain speakers play certain frequency's. If the front speakers are tweet & mid they can blow pretty easy. I don't know if it's the quality or the crossover points but it happens.
We need more info.
Did it just now starting to sound bad?
IMO, the Vette's factory radio isn't the best. Also IMO, I would not spend a dime to fix a factory system, spend the $ on a new set-up.
