I'm sticking some gear in an old Suburban. Nothing fancy, CD head unit, small amp and a pair of 6.5" separates. No holes for speakers in the doors but I do have some holes up in the dash.
It would be very easy to mount both mids in the center of the dash and both tweeters in the outside edges of the dash, all would be aiming at the glass. Would that suck with the mids in the middle and the tweeters on the outside?
Should I just break down and cut holes? Opinions please.

yes, that would suck
I agree with Kale, kick panels is the way to go. As big as a Suburban is I would think there would be plenty of room up there.
You wouldn't want anything other than maybe 1-4" mid in the center, still need the mids in the side. If you don't fiberglass u can make some kicks out of mdf and cover with carpet. Won't even know they're there. Why can't u cut them in the door?
