I am wanting to replace the speakers in my BOSE equipped 99 Coupe. I already replaced the factory deck and bypassed the bose system. What are some good inexspensive speakers that will fit in the factory location? What size wire do I need to buy? Thanks, Kaley
6.5" speakers for the rear of your coupe. The speakers in the doors are a different story. Are you running speakers from the deck power? Do you have a sub? What do you mean by "bypass" the Bose?
I think you will be sorely disappointed if you try to power some aftermarket spakers off of an aftermarket deck. The stock Bose will sound better than an aftermarket system without any external amplification. I really think you should look at some amplification as well as speakers. JMHO.
I do not have a sub yet. i will eventually get one when I can afford it. Right now all the speakers are being ran off the deck. they bypassed the amps on the front speakers. kaley

Okay, so what you have is the stock 3.5" twiddlers in the doors and the stock 6.5" rears. You can replace those with any coaxial speaker of you choice. The MB Quart Discus series is pretty inexpensive and better than the average stuff you will find at Best Buy or Circuit City speaker. I'm pretty sure that CDT also makes a 6.5", but don't know about a 3.5". I also like JL audio XR line. You won't have enough power from an aftermarket HU to really power a set of quality components to their full potential.
When you replace the stock speaker with a 2-way coax set, you will increase clarity, and high frequency reproduction, but you won't really have any bass you can feel below about 100 Hz.
Here is a pic of the MB Quark DKC108 ($50) in the stock locations in the doors.
