I'm going to be installing qty. 2 Image Dynamics IDQ10 D2 V.2 subs run off of a USAcoustics USX600D mono sub amp.
I want to wire the subs together so that I see a 2 ohm load at the amp.
Please help me with the wiring set up between the voice coils and to the amp.
Thanks in advance.
this is kinda hard to explain without a picture but ill try. Wire one sub like normal to the amplifier, positive-to positive and negative to negative. now splice the 2nd subs negative into the negative wire you just ran. do the same for the positive. There you go, 2 ohms
My US Acoutics amp did not like low impedence. Rated at 150w per channel at 4 ohms and 450w into a single 4 ohms. She smoked at the single 4 ohm load. :mad

4 Ohms is 4 Ohms, it doesn't matter how many speakers you have to get there?
Might be an issue is if you run more power than they can handle.
As for the original question, not familur with the brand of speakers mentioned. How many Ohms are the voice coils? Makes a difference if parrallel or series !
Corvette you are right except if it is 4ohm stereo then the amp sees a 4ohm load but if it is 4 ohm mono then the amp halves the load and it sees 2ohm on each stereo channel.
nope, not the same
4 ohm bridged is the same as two channel at 2 ohms (amp, not speakers)
your right about the number of speakers though
by the way, had four JL Audio 15W5s hooked up to the amp and between them all they handle 1000 watts rms. Now have a JBL 1200.1 to them and no problems (except dimming headlights)
You have 2 ohm DVC subs. Wire the subs in series to get a 4 ohm impedance per sub, then when you hook up two of them to a MONO sub amp, the amp will see a 2 ohm load. Each sub will receive 1/2 the rated RMS wattage of the amp at 2 ohms.
