I have a 2000 that came with a tape deck head unit and 12 CD changer. I am interested in swaping out the tape deck head unit and put in the CD head unit. Do all the existing head units already have the proper setup to accept the CD changer, or do I need to be sure it is one that supports the CD changer?
If all goes well, I should have it out of the car Thanksgiving weekend. I am working on an aftermarket system and have just about everything ready to drop in. I am trying to time my installation so that I don't have to go with out sounds too long. I'll keep you posted.
I just swapped out my cassette for a CD head unit last week. I believe all the HUs support the changers because the changers have been a option on C5s since 97. The swap was not difficult at all. I did a search on the forum for the directions and it worked out really well. The only fault I found with the directions were they didn't mention that with a Vert you have to remove the waterfall between the seats to get the console out. Only four screws. Good luck.
I saw your thread on the Bose CD in-dash and I am interested. I have just bought a 1999 C5 coupe which only has the radio/cassette in the dash. I would like to replace this with a stock in-dash CD. So if yours is still available I am interested. What would you want to get for it, dollar-wise? Also, is this just a simple plu-n-play to go from a stock radio/cassette to a stock in-dash CD?

According to B-STOCK (see ealier post in this thread), it sounds like plug-and-play; he didn't mention any mods/harnesses, just removing the waterfall. I would't know myself; just had the in-dash CD, never swapped.
BTW, shipping from CA to FL looks like about $14, plus another $4-5 for insurance.
One last thing, my Paypal is not "Business/Premier" and does not accept credit cards, so in case you're still interested, I just wanna let you know in advance I can only accept Paypal if it's a debit account, or Postal Money Order.
