Power Antenna Lead
Can I tap into the wire harness in the trunk to control the power antenna?
Since I mostly listen to CD's and most of my stations are strong enough with the antenna down, I'd like to be able to control the power antenna manually.

I installed a power antenna in my 01' Z06 recently and also wired in a 12v rocker switch to control the antenna with when I wasn't listening to FM.
You can tap in to the antenna wires in the back far right corner near the tail light. Just pull the carpet back to get to it. The wire harness runs through a rubber grommet in the wall there.
On my antenna I ordered from gmparts direct, the wire color codes were:
orange----constant 12v
black----ground
pink-----12v switched
There's some excellent instructions wriiten by "BOBSZ06" in the Tech Tips section of this forum that explains how to wire it.
