How much for this system installed?
MB Quart speakers all around.
Custom Stealth Box for the trunk.
KICKER 02S10L74 10 inch sub.
Big enough AMP(s depending) to power it all.
Installed? I got a quote from a friend of a friend today. He said he'd hook me up next weekend at his shop. I'll reveal the quoted price later so I can get unbiased opinions. BTW I yanked my factory head unit today. Word of advice to everyone who doesn't know....DON'T do it unless you're pulling everything lol. I've heard walkmans with better bass responce lol.

You'll need to be more specific about which MB's you're talking about. They've got a number of lines that vary hugely in price.
And which brand of amp are you considering? If you're just looking for big #'s and don't care about sound quality, you can get a POS fairly inexpensively.

well I went to get the model #'s from sounddomain but they don't carry them. They list at $500(~250 wholesale?) for the components and like 200(100 or less wholesale?) for the the 6 1/2's I think. I didn't ask what kind of AMP but I'm assuming it's probably a 600 watt kicker AMP(I'm thinking 2 channel so that he has something to power the new MB Quart speakers right?..or something else he has in the shop. I have to call him monday to finalize everything. I don't really know much about sound. My cousin who I brought with me is in to all that and he said it was the top of the line MB Quart speakers that he had in his ride....

500 retail 250 wholesale??????? I WISH.....sorry dude but the mark up on electronics is no where near that. Especially with the internet. A retailer is lucky to get 20 points on the electronics. The money to be made is in acessories, labor, and turning cars out.

Yeah right..I went into Mobile one and they were selling JL 12W7's for 799...actual cost 399...10W7's 599 actual cost 299...poopie they wanted 249 dollars for 12w3's. Seems like a nice markup there. Anyway... I was told 1200 custom stealth box(similar to the JL box)...amp...speakers..sub..install. Pricing from sounddomain....the sub is 299...the custom box from the guy here is 150....amp is atleast 299....install is atleast 200. That's 950 bucks to start with...assuming I can find the amp I need for 300. Add in all new MB Quart speakers and I'm getting a fairly decent rate right?

That looks more like MSRP than actual retail price. MSRP is manufacture suggested retail price....that is an inflated number so people think they are getting a great deal when they purchase stuff below that. Nobody sells for actuall MSRP and gets it in the car audio world. Why ask us if you are getting a great price if you know cost on the equipment. Then only way to get a better price than cost is free.

Well....the only relative unknown here is what kind of AMP I'm getting. I don't recal him telling me what brand...how many watts...or how many channels it would be. So..let me rephrase this....for 6 MB quart speakers + 1 kicker 10L7 what watt/channel amp will I need and what brands should I stay away from?
