I did this on the back of my door speakers with a plastic called PTEG. It is very inexpensive. You have to make a little jig and heat it with a heat gun. Takes only a few minutes. Works very well. I have excellent bass response from the speakers also.
Thanks....I get it from a plastic supplier here. I do not think it is hard to find. Let me know if you have a problem getting it. By the way the aluminum main plate ( you can not see the tweeter since it is up side down) was made with a router :) Tweeter bridge I made on my mill.
Awesome job EatRice, that's exactly what I was looking for. I never heard of that material though. Is it something you can get at Home Depot or Lowe's?
FLYNL4....I have never looked at either of those places for it so I do not know. What I would try is doing yellowpages.com search for plastic suppliers in your area. If you like I can post a sort of how-to with a few pictures so you can make it yourself. But it really is not hard just takes a little patience with the heat gun. Let me know what you find out.
