Ok, I am going to replace my head unit and all speakers, what I need to know is; do I need to run new speaker wires to all speakers, since I have the amps etc. Or do I get a shop manual and use the existing factory wires to run from the deck to the speakers, Im guessing I would need to know the wire colors to splice, plus it aint easy to get to the harness, already fixed the head unit and that lasted for 1 year maybe...thanks ahead of time, for advice.
:iagree:
It is a small pain getting the new wiring from the body through the door panel using the existing holes and following the wire runs from the body to the door, but it can be done. I ran mine through the holes, but had a heck of time getting into the wrap, so I gave up and ran the new speaker wires outside the door wiring with no problems.
The rears are pretty easy tun run along the door sills.
Run new wire. The old isn't up to running the power most newer systems supply. I had tons of whine in mine till I ran new wire. The newer wire has much more insulation on it and it doesn't whine at all now.
Definately run new wire, it's very easy, I ran power up one side (under the carpeted door sills and speakers down the other) Too easy to hide the wires in a C4!
