Can't find those CD connectors
"Pull back carpet trim around the fuse panel and locate the 2 factory connectors. Note: One connector is taped to the harness, the other connector is clipped to the metal bracket above the fuse box."
I found one connector clipped to a metal bracket to the right of the fuse box (this one is not it) but nothing on top of the fuse box. The rubber boot hanging down over the fuse box really gets in the way of finding anything up there but I pulled it away enough to barely see a metal brkt and didn't see any connectors up there at all. I'm afraid to keep bending the rubber boot up like that and breaking it. (I'm sure the dealer wouldn't care and it would get broken)
I did find the one that was taped to the harness but that's it. Anyone have luck finding these connectors?
Also, there will be several feet of wire harness to try and hide, I'm thinking about cutting the harness, has anyone done this?
After the this pigtail breaks off the harness, it continues on under the fuse box. I wish i cold take the box out, maybe then I could find it. From the looks of it, it doesn't appear that the harness goes UP under the fuse box and even just feeling my way around over the fuse box, I don't feel any wires or connectors.
I can't understand why they would make it so hard to find. I hope I don't have to cut the harness in the car to gain access to the other set of wires.
I didn’t think that was the one because of its placement so I didn't unclip it. From the position it was in, it didn't look like a match. I went back out and cut the clip and it did fit the other connector.
Now, everything connected, it doesn't work. The instructions did not call for removing the battery power before installation so I didn't do it. I did hear that it is needed so the radio will accept the new connection. Instead, I pulled the radio fuse but that didn't do the trick.
So, I really don't know if I do have the right connectors or not. My guess is that I do since it would be poor planning to put more than one of the same connectors in the same location without labeling them.
