Default Wiring question for you guys..................

I just read a post about getting the wiring into the door for components on a C5. I 'd like to know where the wire goes from the speaker opening, then through the accordian rubber boot, but then stops. I don't know where to find it in the car. Are there any covers to take off or something? I finally got my nerve up to try putting my stereo in, and can't figure out how to run the wires.... Maybe someone's trying to tell me to take it to a professional. Can you please help me? Thanks!

This pic is what it looks like from the back of the speaker, inside the door's point of view............

door accordian that the wires run through:

Up high in the kickpanel area, you will find some insulation, peel that back and you can feel/see a vinyl insert, it is black. You can pull that insert out and run the wire though the hole. I ran my wire from the body to the door, and I think there was a slight angle. If it doesn't come through I would advise running a second piece of wire. Push it through until it comes out by the door side. Tie the new speaker wire to it and pull it back through.
It is the same on both sides.

Thanks a lot for the help! Does this black piece have a couple of bar codes on it? That was the only thing tup there that even looked like what you described. If it's easier, I can go out there and post a picture of it.

Yes it does and is square with rounded corners. You can get your fingers under the lip and pull it out. I tried taking a picture of it, because I have my kickpanel out but my camera doesn't want to focus in an area that close, without me going through gigantic contortions.

Is this the cover that you were talking about?

It looks like it. You should be able to push a wire through that hole and out into the accordian
