How to ground a wire
I just bought the gmasx aux input and it says to ground the gray wire to a toggle switch. I hate to take it to a shop just for this. How do you ground a single wire? Just connect it to the metal frame with a toggle switch in line? Thanks for any ideas. Tom

If I ground the gray wire the aux input is selected and I can play my mp3 player throught the hu, If I leave the gray wire ungrounded the cd changer plays. This is connected to a toggle

That's right. They use the ground to tell the interface which source to use.
You are also correct, run the grey wire to a spst switch, then from the other pole of the switch run a wire to a good ground.

in that case, the wire will be drawing extremely low current (yes current goes through a ground too) and you can connect it to any place that is easy as long as that place is hooked up to the frame/engine block of the car. :cheers:
