Default C5 power wire question.............

Hi guys,

I tried to use the search, but when I typed in my query, I got page headings, but no posts, so I thought that I'd ask. I took the battery/battery tray out of my car to look for the grommet that goes into the car, but I'm not sure how to get the wire through it. If it's the grommet that i found, it's a stubborn one to get open enough to run a 4 awg cable through. Can you guys please help me. I don't want to wreck something. Heck, after tonight, I was going to put it back together, wait til spring and take it to the stereo shop. Thanks

I did not have luck running my 4 ga wire thru that hole as well ...
Just take a drill and dill it ... It is just fiber glass so it is a piece of cake (easier than thrill thru wood :D)
Good luck!

I just pushed mine through the side of one of the existing gromets in my '99 coupe.

I think there is more than one hole you can use.

I used 4ga, but sorry don't have a pic and the car is in storage.

Just feel around under the tray, you might also be able to see it up from the fuse area, but I"m not sure.

Thanks for the help guys! I got the power wire run into the battery box compartment, now I've got to get an Optima battery, or figure out how to hook up a battery terminal post for my Delco battery. Any suggestions?

Stinger makes a battery terminal that works with the side post Delco.
At the bottom of the page.

Any good auto parts or Car Audio store will have what you are looking for. I found mine at the local Auto parts, but have seen them at the mass marketing/franchise auto stores. It is a screw in side terminal with a second post, if you will, for adding accesories directly to the battery. I think I paid less than $6.

No. The stock cable goes on the same ways as from the factory and the power cable will go under the outside nut on the terminal. The terminal is made in two pieces essentially a bolt inside a bolt
