Rant headunit install
I got sick of using my old old Sony headunit from like 1998 or so, so I plopped in another unit I had sittin around (kenwood excelon). This one is also quite old, back in the car stereo hayday of high school. Anyway the sony unit fit in fine but this kenwood one, DANG I couldnt get it to fit in. So I tried the whole heat gun on the plastic but I didnt realize the top 1" or so of that black duct must have some sort of steel behind it cause it was NOT budging. I did what I could and took a sledgehammer and tried to bend that too after heating the plastic but it still didnt go anywhere. ugh.
now with it getting warm, its gonna be top off/cruisin/loud music season. I really like new electronics and speakers, most of mine are starting to get flakey.

Yeah both are single DIN. The kenwood's hang up was probably the attached leads of wires on the rear, cause they were the furthest thing sticking out and I could tell where the unit was pivoting. I really need a new headunit, this one is old. Its got one of the motorized faces that spin around but I had it so long the front panel's controls stopped working cause the ribbon was probbly getting fatigued. I repalced that though.
