I got the 2 15s in the back and love it. However I'm kinda thinkin about going with something not so LOUUDD!

Maybe a ported 12? Anyone done this in a C5?...

Just something Im thinkin about really. Maybe something I'll do later on. If I do do it I'll be gearing the car more towards speed at that time.

Wow, I have a Brahma 15 in my hatch and I think that's pushing it !

 

I wouldn't change out the dual 15s, just mod the rest of the car now

not to bad... I haven't done anything to my vette yet. I did pull the system out of my truck after I wrecked it and finally put it in the replacement DD. Just need to make a new box for the 15s, just been lazy.

 

What are you puttin 15s in your Vette too? What equipment did you end up going with?

No... the vette is getting 2 E12A's, and I haven't done the vette yet, figured I'd do my daily driver first since i'm in that 80% of the time.

yea, it sucked... an expense I didn't really want to worry about. I'm saving up for a replacement now, thinking of going with a 97-98 eclipse gsx.

 

I got my GTI in over 1.5 cu ft. box which I think I can port it but just love the sound of sealed enclosure With your coupe, I don't know how you can handle those two 15's

 

Metal Wulf - Those 15s are just older but they slump dude. A buddy had 2 of those only 12s in a 90s tbird. Sounds really good. Those are pretty cool.. I see you went with the Hifonics amp! My bro has 2 of those powering his duce solo 15s in his 10cu. ft ported box! 3 sound comps later and 3 1st places! His system isent even setup for sound comps its setup for normal listening. It sounds soooo nice and still kicks behind!

I havent took mine to any comps yet but would like to just to see what it hit...

Dont get the Eclipse! Dont do it!!! lol Cant you get your C5 for about that price? Buddy has one and it cost him close to 28k he bought it about 3 yrs ago. However, I had a 2001 V6 auto Xcab S10 Xtreme with a 100lb Tonneau cover 20inch rims... Only performce mods were a catback, and K&N intake. My truck 180HP stock.. His GSX 220HP... We would race from a jump and he would take me off the line cause of the AWD. When we started from a roll we were side by side until about 80-90mph then he would slowly pull on me...

Moral of the story... Save your money and get the Vette!!!

mike76002 - The 15s are loud man! haha I mostly turn it down except when we cruise which I havent done for awhile. My friend tells me I should get some of those airport ear things that the guys use that direct the jets. He said next time someone next to you is bumpin there system look over at them pull out your phatty ear muffs put them on then crank the system!

I can't and wouldn't want to get a C5, simply because I got an insurance quote for a '98 tacoma with full coverage, it would double my rate to $600 a month for insurance!! For a truck worth maybe 12K, so I can't finance anything cause it would require full coverage, even if i could buy a C5 out right I wouldn't do it unless i could afford full coverage. So I'm stuck looking for something decent that I can buy outright and just carry liability.

This fall I'm starting a new school and i'll be driving 100miles round trip. so I need something with decent gas milage, so another truck is out. the gsx will get around 20-25mpg and cost me $8-10k, plus AWD for the crappy rain/snow drives.

my mom bought the mx3 in '95 and has been taken care of and still runs great with 145k miles, but who know for how much longer with the amount of miles i'm putting on it, so I'm driving it til it dies and saving for something else too.

If I do get a gsx, expect a post about a system install with a 18" xxx powered by my hofonics amp

If you insure it as your second car it will be alot cheaper. hehe Still I understand what your saying your situation is right now.

Just a note.. Call 21st Century Insurance 800-211-Save... They are pretty cheap expessially if you got a good record.
