Re: Amp needs new Transistors IRF Z44...help pls (HeadsUp)
not sure if thats it or not, if that pic is correct then its not it, but im going to a place localy i found to see if they can help. Radio shack didnt know anything about what i was looking for
Re: Amp needs new Transistors IRF Z44...help pls (MaxxMitchell)
Can you take a close up digital picture of it? Is it soldered such that the leads are straight with the component 90 degrees to the board? Is there a large metal tab?
In general the guys at Radio Shack don't have a clue. I'm an Electrical Engineer so I'm fairly familiar with these types of components.

Hate to state the obvious but why not call Kicker or even have them do the repair. Even if you replace the xsistors you may find additional problems. There are all kinds of values that need to be correct for the amp to perform correctly and to spec. If you got it for free it could be a good investment to repair it otherwise buy one new. But coming here and expecting someone to match xsistors is probably a stretch. I work for a manufacturer of Amplifiers and see alot of DIY repairs that result in disaster. Just my $.02
Good Luck

Sorry no digi camera for a close up, see first post on what it says exactly on it, the leads do come strait out, and then a slight bend is imposed to get the transister to mate up with the heat sink.
As for radio shack, I seemed to know more than thier GM on most stuff, so i got an interview on monday to start working and helping them and myself out. I found 3 local electronic stors around me so im going to take my stuff there to have them match the parts.
