Hey guys. I'm thinking about taking the plunge and buying an IDMAX. I'm wanting the opinions of you guys on the sub. I've never heard anything bad about this sub. I'm sure there are some better ones but I found a guy on eca selling them for $200 + shipping.
I'm not wanting to break any dB records but I do want some good sounding bass at all volume levels. What do you think?
Also, what amp would you suggest for powering this bad boy? I've got an arc 2100 CXL that will be powering my mids but currently all I have is a MTX500D for my subs.
Re: $200 for an IDMAX. What do you think?!? (noelc5)
I've powered the IDMAX at 230, 400, 750, and 1000 watts.
Ported and sealed.
It sounds great at all the above configurations, and is surprisingly loud with only 230 watts. But 1000 watts in a ported box will seriously deteriorate your hearing. Its awesome.
Is it a V1 or V2?
A v1 for that price isa about average... but $200 is a good deal on a v2.

Ok this is what I like to hear. I think it's a good price on the sub. I take it from people that have actually heard or had one that it's gonna suite my needs.

Noel...Yeah $200 for the sub is an excellent deal, I bought two of those v3 subs in 10" for about $250 each/shipped, haven't install them in my c4 yet, but soon I will, I plan to seal the rear compartment and make it into a custom stealth box...

Chillcat,
Awesome. I'm planning on putting one of these into a sealed enclosure. I'm going to start glassin' this weekend if everything goes according to plan. Take some pictures and keep me posted.
