Default Damn Bose

Just got my driver's side speaker/amp back after 3 weeks and $120 including shipping. It had started screeching and squealing and I held off a while till I could spare the money to fix it. While it was gone, I had been using the radio with just the rear speakers and right front speaker (which the repair place said was fine to do, BTW). The Cd player in my Bose "Gold" unit quit last winter but I figured after the speaker was repaired, I'd get the CD player fixed ($190 to fix it I guess). So I'd have $310.00 dollars in a repaired radio in my '92. Well, installed the repaired speaker and it sounded great, for about 5 minutes. Then the RIGHT speaker went to hell, became all fuzzy and full of static. I unhooked the newly repaired speaker and the right one is still screwed. I'm as pissed as I can be. I emailed the speaker repair people just inquiring if this was normal or what and their reply, seriously, was that the old speaker was just "jealous". Not the humorous answer that I was looking for at that moment. Now, for the sum of about $450.00 I could have a fully functional "used" Bose Gold system. Should I pull the plug now and just go aftermarket? I'm open to suggestions as to what to go with, etc. I have no qualms at all about "defiling" the originality of my Vette by not using the stock POS that it came with. I seriously have no desire to ever own another Bose anything again. I have a $1000 Bose home theater system that sounds almost as good as a $300 one also. Rant, rant, rant!
