The CDT Image Enhancing tweeters do add a lot of needed highs.
It is very difficult to get good imaging and bass response from a vert. That 7897 looks very good in the dash. You just need to tidy up your wiring a bit. How does it sound?

Vette Specialties sells the metal DIN bezel kit. It looks very nice in a modified 68-77 center guage bezel.
