Did it myself, pics to follow soon, rewired all the speakers and I am in the process of building the mount for the dash in the radio, didn't take to long and sounds good. It is a kenwood KDC-V7022. I have complete install pics if anyone needs them.
I am getting a new dash trim piece. I want to cut it differnt.
OT, but could I get an up-close pic of your power seat controls sometime? The ones on the console, not on the seat. I'm trying to restore some of the little things on mine, and figuring out exactly what I'm looking for is a little difficult...
96zride,
I just took out my Kenwood KDC-9017 from my '91 last night because it needs to be repaired (no power to faceplate). I think the previous owner said it was installed by Best Buy. I noticed that rear of the radio was not secured with the bracket/screw as shown in the instructions. The only thing holding the radio to the dash is one screw thought the black plastic molding at the front. Ever since I got the car, the CD player would skip, and I thought It was due to the stiff suspension. Now I'm thinking it's because the cd player is not secured properly. I can't see any way the secure the back screw. I noticed in your post you mentioned you built an enclosure for the dash. How did you secure/mount you radio?
thanks in advance.
Howard
p.s. I could not view all of the install pictures you posted.
give me a couple of days and I will get all of the pics to you. I built a bracket that screwed into the radio and rested on the tarnny/engine tunnel.
I sits there haven't screwed it in yet because I have an amp to put in.
