Sorry for the dumb question but I just had the Bose stereo fixed in my 93 Vette (I know I know go after market) anyway before the repair the CD player wasn't working. Since the repair if I have a CD playing when I shut the car off it keeps working for a short while (as well as the windows I found out) Is it normal for the CD to keep playing?
Thanks
Frank
Does it stop working after you open the door? Sounds like you have retained accessorie power...RAP. I am not positive but that is what it seems like. Maybe someone with a C4 will jump in here and verify.
Yes, it's supposed to work that way. The radio plays, along with the windows working. After you shut the car off, and open the doors, everything should stop working.
thanks for the reply guys, whats happening is it stays on even after opening the doors and and I believe it shuts off after about 5 minutes. Need to check further on that though as I just got the car back today and had to get right to work. Whats odd though is when I got to work I got out of car and locked doors with the CD still playing then realized I needed something else out of the car and used my remote clicker to unlock and the stereo shut off. So I'm going out later on a break from work to play with it some more
Ok now I really feel dumb, all appears to be working as it should, being old and dumb what I was doing was opening the door before I shut off engine so when I closed door the stereo was still going and I guess using the clicker to unlock doors made the system think door was opened. I figured this out in my testing because after turning on the car and stereo and then shuting off engine ( i was outside car leaning in to start) i closed door but didn't close it right opened it up to close it right and stereo shutoff so DUMB ME sorry for wasting everyones time but thanks for the great response
